About The Position

The Assistant Director for Recruiting and Events serves under the administrative supervision of the Director of Student Recruitment and Events for the College of Business. Primary roles of the position are to (1) Recruit undergraduate students to the college, (2) Plan, coordinate, and assist with college and Department events, and (3) Develop and implement strategies to recruit high-achieving undergraduate students to the college.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communication, or other degrees beneficial to position.
  • 3 years experience, demonstrated knowledge and experience in student recruiting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
  • Ability to work autonomously and independently.
  • Exceptional work effort and highly motivated.
  • Must be detailed orientated.
  • Excellent writer.
  • Must be a logical thinker.
  • Ability to recognize patterns and predict problems.
  • Ability to identify solutions or alternative approaches.
  • Proficiency in word processing and database management.

Responsibilities

  • Set and monitor recruitment goals for graduate business programs.
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies that align with the department's mission and growth objectives for graduate and executive programs.
  • Develop and maintain recruiting and marketing materials for the department's graduate and executive programs.
  • Collaborate with campus partners across Mississippi State University to ensure cohesive recruitment messaging, marketing, and branding.
  • Coordinate on and off campus graduate recruiting activities, including graduate fairs, information sessions, class visits, and outreach events.
  • Promote and represent the College of Business graduate programs at recruiting events, professional meetings, and outreach activities.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with corporate partners, professional organizations, universities, and other pipeline partners to promote the College of Business graduate and executive programs.
  • Manage communication with prospective students, including maintaining recruiting databases and overseeing outreach through email, digital platforms, and social media.
  • Plan and coordinate graduate program events, including recruiting events, admitted student programming, MBA orientation, alumni events, and corporate engagement activities.
  • Support executive education programming and events as needed, including coordination with faculty, corporate partners, and program participants.
  • Analyze recruitment metrics, application trends, and event outcomes to assess effectiveness, prepare reports for senior leadership, and identify opportunities for improvement; manage the annual graduate recruiting budget.
  • Develop and manage the annual graduate recruiting and events budgets.
  • Other duties as assigned.
