About The Position

Ready to shape the future of a vibrant fraternity and sorority community? Join the University of Dayton and design transformative leadership initiatives, coach FSL councils and chapters, and serve as a vital collaborator in community-wide safety and risk management. The Assistant Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life provides direct guidance and support to the fraternity and sorority community, including 25 chapters across four councils and over 1,200 members, focusing on leadership, risk management, and chapter development. This role is responsible for advising assigned FSL councils (assigned based on experience), coaching individual chapters, and supporting recruitment initiatives for all councils. The Assistant Director will also design and implement leadership development programs, advise the Order of Omega FSL Honors Society, support risk mitigation efforts within the Center for Student Involvement, and collaborate with key campus partners on risk prevention and special housing projects. Situated within the Center for Student Involvement, this position reports to the Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree AND at least two years demonstrated experience advising fraternities and sororities or the equivalent through professional opportunities or graduate education, including internships and assistantships.
  • Experience working with culturally inclusive student organizations.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interest in developing a premier Sorority and Fraternity Life experience at a Catholic and Marianist institution.
  • Must be willing to work on a flexible basis when activities fall outside of typical working hours (evenings and weekend work required).

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education, or related field by August 15, 2026.
  • Membership in an (inter)national fraternity or sorority.
  • Demonstrated experience advising National Pan-Hellenic Council, Multicultural Greek Council, National Panhellenic Conference, and/or Interfraternity Council organizations.
  • Demonstrated excellence in curriculum design, implementation, and assessment.
  • Experience creating new and innovative programs for fraternity and sorority members.
  • Experience with extension/expansion of a fraternity/sorority community on campus.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with campus partners.
  • Knowledge of and experience with software programs, including Interactive Collegiate Solutions (ICS) or CampusDirector and CampusGroups, plus strong use of Google email platform features.
