About The Position

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s from an accredited college or university; Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience combined in the areas of operations, maintenance, human resources and event security. Demonstrated skills necessary to work with representatives with maintenance, operations, human resources and public assembly facilities backgrounds; Demonstrated leadership ability, strong interpersonal skills and effective communications skills; Four (4) years supervisory experience; Computer experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, CAD, room scheduling and room layout software program is required; Ability to work a flexible schedule includes nights, early mornings, weekends and holiday is required. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : Probationary/Term Contract: 250 days SALARY: $89,936 (BA-6) Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Ensure the safety of the facility, employees and guests on premises. Provide oversight of the guest services, event security, EMT, and CFPD to ensure appropriate compliance and coverage for all events. Manages and directs facilities operations, custodial and guest services departments. Responsible for direct support and coordination of event space in direct support of and based upon the requirements for events in coordination with all other Berry Center departments. Develop and oversee the facilities and custodial operating purchases, projects and budgets and long-range plans. Update and maintain preventative maintenance program for necessary equipment. Conduct/attend facility event production meetings/planning sessions and ensure that staffing and equipment needs for events are met. Responsible for the coordination of event details with internal staff, preferred providers services and outsourced contractors to meet client needs. Motivate staff to facilitate a teamwork approach combining expertise and manpower for the completion of projects. Review, update and train staff of emergency plans and public safety/security policies and procedures in accordance with Cy-Fair Police Department/Emergency Management Department. Serve as safety officer representative for facility with CFISD to ensure strict adherence to safe work practices, city and state code compliance, and Americans with Disabilities Act requirements Carry out supervisory responsibilities of all events held at Berry Center in accordance with the organization’s procedures. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and discipling employees; addressing issues and solving problems and regularly communicating with staff. Maintain Berry Center Employee Handbook in conjunction with CFISD Handbook. Work some nights, weekends and holidays. Serve as MOD (Manager on Duty) as required. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Assist in other projects as assigned. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
