About The Position

Provides assistance to the Director in the management of the Department and the implementation of the Program as well as supervise Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act Program personnel and fiscal activities.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Services, Public Administration or a related field, seven (7) years related experience and a valid driver’s license are required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates, with the Director, the development of activities and outcomes to assure that the Grantee (Madison County) complies with requirements of any and all funding sources.
  • Supervises and reviews the ongoing operations of the department
  • Monitors program performance and fiscal budgets
  • Reviews client and vendor complaints and coordinates response to same
  • Assist with staff support to the Madison-Bond-Jersey-Calhoun Workforce Investment Board, and specific committees as assigned and assists in policies and procedures
  • Conducts routine meetings with staff to review and implement program strategies
  • Assists as Department representative for county, state, and federal issues, including attendance at appropriate meetings and training functions
  • Serves as resource to local organizations for employment and training services in the community and a liaison between training provider’s customers, and service agencies.
  • Coordinates and reviews the development and implementation of the Department’s written policies, under the direction of the Director.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of various Department events.
  • Coordinates activities with outside agencies and organizations for the effective planning and implementation of Department programs, including serving on boards and committees as appropriate
  • Directly supervises Business Services Staff and approves OJT, Customized and Incumbent worker agreements
  • Assists the Director in the implementation of the Department’s Illinois WorkNet Center programs and other workforce development initiatives
  • Responsible for the preparation and review of plan documents and modifications for all funding sources; assesses labor market information in support of Department’s Administration
  • Develops Department agreements and contracts
  • Coordinates youth services and advises and oversees youth contractors in the implementation of youth programs; processes youth contractor invoices
  • Prepares reports and other documents for both Department and community use
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
