About The Position

The Assistant Director, Annual Giving is a hybrid role designed to drive donor participation and revenue through two primary pillars: volunteer-led class initiatives and multi-channel annual giving campaigns. You will spend roughly half your time supporting the Class Giving Program working with class volunteers to meet their fundraising goals and the other half executing the tactical operations of the broader Annual Giving program-including direct mail, digital platforms, and vendor coordination. This exempt position reports to the Director, Annual Giving Programs, and has a salary range of $65,600 to $82,000. This position pays a competitive salary commensurate with experience and is also eligible for an annual performance-based bonus, when applicable. This position is based in historic Annapolis at our current offices in the Fluegel Alumni Center. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of professional experience in fundraising, marketing, sales or client relations. Preferably in a higher education setting.
  • Knowledge of CRM platforms, preferably Blackbaud.
  • Experience with digital fundraising tools, including email deliverability platforms, form builders, donation platforms, and CRM integrations
  • Strong understanding of omni‑channel marketing, segmentation, analytics, donor lifecycle management
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Ability to work effectively and respectfully with diverse groups of constituents and colleagues

Responsibilities

  • Milestone reunion support: Provide dedicated strategic support for the Associate Director of Class Giving Programs for milestone reunions (10th, 20th, 30th, 40th, 50th, and beyond).
  • Volunteer Communication: Work with class volunteers, providing them with the tools, messaging, and motivation needed to solicit peers effectively.
  • Vendor Coordination: Work with our fundraising partner Encoura/RNL to provide segmentation, produce required campaign assets and track Class Project fundraising progress.
  • Reporting & Tracking: Monitor progress toward class-specific goals and provide regular, transparent reporting to volunteers and internal leadership.
  • Special Projects: Oversee unique fundraising initiatives tied to athletics or Special Interest Groups (SIGs) for specific class years or milestone anniversaries.
  • Relationship Management: Maintain open, professional communication with alumni, Yard Staff, and Foundation staff to foster a collaborative fundraising environment.
  • Organize and facilitate class fundraising meetings and stakeholder briefings as required.
  • Multi-Channel Strategy: Support the implementation of direct mail, email marketing, and phonathon programs to ensure a cohesive donor experience.
  • GiveCampus Management: Support setup and execution of online campaigns using the GiveCampus platform.
  • Donor Acquisition: Develop and execute tactics specifically aimed at bringing new donors into the pipeline and managing their initial journey with the institution focusing on recent graduates.
  • Campaign Analytics: Analyze the performance of various solicitations; identify trends, calculate ROI, and recommend strategic pivots to improve future results.
  • Database Queries: Utilize the donor database to pull segmented lists for targeted outreach, ensuring data integrity and accurate list logic.
  • Fundraising Marketing Oversight: Manage the production timeline, proofing process, and distribution logic for all outreach efforts.
  • Gift processing support: Assist donors with pledges, stock transfers, and outright gifts. Coordinate with Finance & Gift Administration to ensure accurate tracking.
  • Stewardship & acknowledgement: Manage personalized donor stewardship and acknowledgement workflows, ensuring class-specific impact is communicated effectively to contributors.
