About The Position

Under the direction of Senior Associate Director, Affinity Giving, the Assistant Director, Affinity Giving serves as the primary lead for the CHOP Alumni Organization and provides strategic and tactical support of the Alumni and Employee Giving programs. In alignment with the overall goals of the Enterprise Development program and Foundation, the position will engage with both internal and external audiences.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree - Required
  • At least three (3) years of fundraising, alumni relations, events, program management, or related experience - Required
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Solid critical thinking / problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to travel required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree - Preferred
  • At least six (6) months of annual giving experience - Preferred
  • At least six (6) months of alumni and/or employee engagement experience - Preferred
  • Substantial knowledge fundraising best practices preferred (Preferred proficiency)
  • Fundamental knowledge of customer relationship management software (Salesforce, Raiser's Edge) preferred (Preferred proficiency)
  • Intermediate proficiency with office software (Microsoft Office)

Responsibilities

  • In partnership with the Senior Associate Director, Affinity Giving manage the strategy and logistics of CHOP’s Alumni Organization
  • Engage and steward potential alumni and employee donors and prospects
  • Effectively engage and manage volunteers from the CHOP Alumni Executive Committee
  • Plan and execute all alumni organization events, including board meetings, receptions, class reunions, award events and residency graduation
  • Work with colleagues across the Foundation to create specialized communication and stewardship for CHOP Alumni and Employees
  • Partner with the Regional Team to implement an ongoing strategy to cultivate and engage CHOP Alumni outside of the Philadelphia area
  • Assist the Senior Associate Director, Affinity Giving with the implementation of the annual CHOP Employee Giving campaign and other programmatic activities to engage new donors, increase giving, and create a culture of philanthropy within the institution.
