About The Position

The Assistant Director, Advanced Scouting Player Personnel at The Ohio State University's Athletics | Football department is primarily responsible for the evaluation and scouting of transfer portal prospects. This role involves creating and producing advanced scouting reports for staff, both in and out of season, and evaluating current members of the Ohio State roster. Key duties also include maintaining the recruiting board for transfer portal prospects, assisting with camps, clinics, and gathering prospect measurements. The Assistant Director will host prospects and parents on official and unofficial visits as needed, perform research and special projects, and manage all full-time staff within the personnel and recruiting functions. Additionally, the position tracks and distributes prospect results, manages the transfer portal database, and supports the General Manager and personnel department with daily activities. This is a full-time, fixed-term position with 40 scheduled hours and varying shifts, located at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 6 years of relevant experience

Responsibilities

  • Evaluation/scouting of transfer portal prospects
  • Creates and produces advanced scouting reports for members of staff both in and out of season
  • Evaluates current members of Ohio State roster for staff use
  • Maintains the recruiting board for all transfer portal prospects
  • Assists with all camps and clinics as it relates to recruiting needs
  • Assists with the gathering of all measurements for prospects on visits
  • Assists with hosting prospects and parents on official and unofficial visits when needed
  • Performs research and special projects as assigned
  • Manages all full-time staff working in personnel and recruiting
  • Tracks and distributes prospect's results to staff throughout season
  • Manages upkeep of transfer portal database
  • Assists the General Manager and members of personnel department with all day-to-day activities
