About The Position

Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Assistant Director, Admissions Events. Boca Raton, FL. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is seeking a highly organized, collaborative, and student-focused professional to support administrative operations and recruitment initiatives. The Assistant Director of Admissions Events will serve as the first point of contact for admissions events, including coordinating, planning, and organizing distinctive campus-wide recruitment events.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience; or a master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience required.
  • Event planning, project management and operations, preferably in a university setting.
  • Candidate must take the initiative in organizing and managing programs and planning new events.
  • Must have excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility, creativity, and patience.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions in the areas of administration (including public relations) and recruitment.
  • Oversees the coordination, development, implementation, and management of on and off-campus Undergraduate Admissions recruitment events for prospective (Explore FAU) and admitted (Choose FAU) students and school counselors/advisors (SUS Directors Tour), which attracts over 15,000 participants every year.
  • Identifies, develops, and maintains collaborative working relationships with University and community agencies for support as appropriate. This includes Facilities, Student Union, Dining, FAU Deans & Colleges, Student Affairs, and Student Services.
  • Manages the format and implementation of consistent communications with prospective students and campus partners throughout the event planning process.
  • Supervises graduate assistants and/or student employees.
  • Assists with event-related budget planning.
  • Prepares budget proposals, recommendations, and approvals where appropriate.
  • Works with the management team to evaluate the effectiveness and potential of unique events, programs/functions.
  • Interprets and analyzes market research and enrollment data
  • Supports the activities of the Directors and Assistant Vice President.
  • Trains and uses admissions-related software for job functions such as Slate CRM (Customer Relationship Management), Eventbrite, etc.
  • Facilitates the production of marketing communications materials and collaterals for giveaway orders, emails, and CRM templates.
  • Supports and assists with the execution of other admissions/recruitment events, including but not limited to transfer, international, and freshman admissions.
  • Represents the college/department and serves on various department and university committees.
  • Answers phone calls and emails from interested students and/or their family members.
  • Provides friendly greetings and accurate information to appropriate parties and facilitates follow-up as necessary.
  • Maintains membership in CIVSA and utilizes related resources for best practices and idea generation.
  • Adhere to Florida Board of Governors Regulations, State University System standards for professional conduct and practice, and FAU policies.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of university policies and procedures and give accurate information.
  • Provide professional presentations and a positive first impression of Florida Atlantic through dress, speech, and actions.
  • Provides lobby coverage if needed.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
