About The Position

The Assistant Dining Services Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of dining services within a healthcare or assisted living environment. This position supports the Dining Services Supervisor in managing daily dining operations, coordinating staff, and maintaining high standards of food service and resident care. This role requires close collaboration with healthcare teams to accommodate residents' dietary needs, including those related to wound care and infection control. The Assistant Supervisor will also oversee compliance with health and safety regulations, ensuring a clean and safe dining environment. Ultimately, this position contributes to enhancing the overall dining experience and well-being of residents through attentive service and effective team leadership.

Requirements

  • Cooking/Culinary experience is required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience working in the kitchen of a long-term care facility or health-care setting.
  • Must hold Serv-Safe Certification.
  • Familiarity with infection control standards and procedures.
  • Basic computer literacy, including experience with scheduling and reporting software.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience in dining services or healthcare settings.
  • Training in resident nutrition and specialized dietary needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in supervising dining services staff to ensure efficient and courteous service delivery.
  • Coordinate meal preparation and delivery in accordance with residents' dietary requirements and care plans.
  • Monitor and support infection control practices within the dining area to maintain a safe environment.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to understand and implement resident care needs related to nutrition and wound care.
  • Maintain accurate records of meal services, staff schedules, and compliance with health regulations.
  • Provide training and guidance to dining staff on resident care protocols and basic computer systems used for scheduling and reporting.
  • Address and resolve any dining-related issues or resident concerns promptly and professionally.
