About The Position

Assistant Dietary Manager We are seeking a dependable and motivated Assistant Dietary Manager to support our Dietary Manager in overseeing daily food service operations in our long‑term care community. This role helps ensure residents receive nutritious, safe, and high‑quality meals while maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Previous food service experience, preferably in long‑term care or healthcare
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and nutrition standards
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) or willingness to obtain
  • ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Experience with therapeutic diets
  • Familiarity with CMS regulations and long‑term care surveys

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Dietary Manager with daily dietary operations and staff supervision
  • Support menu planning and meal service that meets nutritional and therapeutic requirements
  • Ensure compliance with CMS, health department, OSHA, and sanitation regulations
  • Monitor food temperatures, storage, and infection‑control practices
  • Assist with training, scheduling, and oversight of dietary staff
  • Conduct routine kitchen inspections and follow up on corrective actions
  • Manage food inventory, ordering, and supplies within budget guidelines
  • Address resident concerns regarding meals and service
  • Support special diets, allergies, and physician‑ordered meal plans
  • Complete documentation accurately and timely
  • Assume Dietary Manager duties in their absence, as assigned
