The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is North America's largest transportation network, serving a population of 15.3 million people across a 5,000-square-mile travel area surrounding New York City, Long Island, southeastern New York State, and Connecticut. The MTA network comprises the nation's largest bus fleet and more subway and commuter rail cars than all other U.S. transit systems combined. Position Objective: Direct, control, administer, and oversee all activities associated with the contracting and purchasing of specific, consolidated, multi-agency inventory and non-inventory assets/services required by the MTA Operating Departments, including the acquisition of capitally funded assets such as rolling stock. Additionally, in order to maintain superior customer service, the Assistant Deputy Chief Procurement Operations (ADCPO) will serve as a high-level liaison, on a dotted line reporting basis to the president of the operating agency. This will ensure a full awareness of the needs of the agency and will enable the Assistant Deputy Chief to represent the agency in all matters of procurement and supply chain priority.
