About The Position

At JAX Mercantile Co., a local, family-owned company, the Assistant Department Manager in the JAX Outdoor Gear, Farm & Ranch location in Broomfield, CO, is responsible for providing outstanding customer service. This role supports the Department Manager and overall department operations by providing employee training and development, sharing product expertise, leading by example when assisting customers, and finding ways to improve the service provided by JAX. The position involves coordinating with the buyers team to provide feedback on products, visual merchandising with product displays, moving and tracking inventory, stocking, and organizing the department. The ideal candidate is experienced in retail, willing to help, well-organized, takes initiative, communicates well, and has an engaging and positive approach to customer service. JAX has been providing customers with outstanding service for over 60 years.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience, knowledge and interest in lawn & garden products and landscaping products preferred
  • Previous experience, knowledge and interest in hardware & outdoor power equipment preferred
  • Experience with selling brands carried by JAX preferred
  • Prior retail lead or supervisory experience strongly preferred
