Job Description: Job Title: Assistant Department Manager FLSA: Non-Exempt General Function Assists in managing overall daily warehouse operations and directs labor. Responsible for maintaining equipment and the cleanliness of the facility. Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be physically able to exert up to 50 pounds of force repeatedly; exert up to 20 pounds of force frequently to move objects.
  • Must be able to be on feet (standing and walking) for 6-8 hours a day.
  • Visual requirements include vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision.
  • Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
  • Must pass post offer pre-employment fitness test, hearing, and drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months to 1 year similar or related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct the work of all employees.
  • Organize and plan labor usage for efficiency and cost control.
  • Maintain in-house quality control including cleaning, mishandling of equipment and merchandise.
  • Communicates with supervisors labor needs, receiving, storage, rotation, and shipping issues.
  • Responds to questions and issues from employees.
  • Attends and participates in meetings.
  • Maintain employee records and document employee interactions
  • Performs other job related duties and special projects as required.
  • Train new employees.
  • Completes employee performance reviews and participates in productivity reviews.
  • Responsible for instructing, assigning work, reviewing work, planning work of others, maintaining standards, coordinating activities, allocating personnel, acting on employee problems.
  • Has authority to recommend employee disciplinary and discharge actions.
