The Assistant Dean of Students for Student Life and Operations (ADSLO) is a twelve-month full-time staff member of the Division of Student Affairs reporting directly to the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students (AVP/DOS). The ADSLO is a key member of the Vice President of Student Affairs and Athletics’ leadership team and is a highly visible student-centered leader in Student Affairs. This Assistant Dean is tasked with providing vision and leadership to create and foster a healthy, safe, and inclusive robust campus life for a diverse student population. The ADSLO is tasked with providing leadership and oversight for the departments of Residence Life, Campus Dining, and Student Care. The ADSLO also serves as the lead Title IX Deputy Coordinator, chief student conduct officer, and provides coordination and oversight for summer camps. As a key member of the Vice President’s senior leadership, this assistant dean provides critical leadership in delivering a dynamic and successful student experience within a vibrant and progressive campus culture. A successful assistant dean will be an experienced higher education administrator with (1) demonstrated experience centralizing diversity, equity, inclusion, access, and belonging in student serving programs and processes, (2) a team oriented leadership style and professional philosophy, (3) and a professional career plan to advance to senior leadership in Student Affairs.
