Role Summary: What you’ll do Basic Components of the Job Description for the Assistant Dean of Restorative Practices position include (but are not limited to): Whole School Responsibilities Refining, communicating, and maintaining the following Student Culture Systems: Restorative Practices Social-Emotional Learning Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS) Systems, including upholding School wide Expectations Relationship-building with families and students Leading small-group supports, individual check-ins, and student-family meetings Interface with families and community members in order to support all students Supervising and actively supporting culture norms during all non-instructional activities, including, but not limited to… Arrival / Dismissal Breakfast Lunch Transitions School Events Research, share lead enrichment and extracurricular activities as appropriate to ensure holistic development. Restorative Justice Investigation of student incidents and ensuring proper documentation Restorative Conferences Restorative Actions Harm Circles Family Meetings After-School Service & Recess Reflection Behavior Deescalation and Regulation Engaging in Professional Development to implement Bright Star Schools’ initiatives with fidelity and to continue to develop their own skill-set: Circle Training Restorative Practice Training Restorative Practices Cadre Meeting 1-1 Coaching with Director of Restorative Justice Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) Training Behavior Intervention and Implementation Training Provide coaching and support to colleagues. Collaborate with classroom teachers, counselors, instructional assistants, administration, and special educators to design and execute Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions, including behavioral support and safety plans. Conduct classroom observations to support teachers; monitor the implementation of restorative practices and classroom culture. Attend Weekly Check-In Meetings with the Behavior Support Team. Attend Grade-Level Meetings. Seek out professional development opportunities. Develop and maintain relationships with school partners and outside student services.
