About The Position

This position is responsible for: Plans, and provides activities and childcare services for school-age children participating in the After School and/or Summer Day Camp Programs; plans, develops, and facilitates recreational activities and play time; prepares and maintains program records; maintains cleanliness and orderliness of Club’s property. Assists the Summer Day Camp Director with day-to-day operations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED, 45 hours required DCF School Age Training AND Two years’ experience teaching child development programs in a church or preschool OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• C.P.R. and First Aid Certification
• This position requires a level 2 background screening.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and constant care for the needs of the children in an efficient, clean, loving, safe, secure, and healthy manner.
• Assists the Director to ensure s activities for school age children; ensures that activities are age appropriate, stimulating, fun and safe for the children.
• Builds and maintains effective and positive relationships with parents, community leaders and host organizations and agencies; ensures all obligations are fulfilled in meeting the requirements of any written or verbal agreements.
• Assists in the Registration and orientation of participants and parents.
• Attends and participates in regularly scheduled in-service training sessions.
