About The Position

The purpose of this position is to assist the Head Cook in food preparation, ensuring all meals are prepared according to established food production procedures, nutritional guidelines, and sanitation standards. This role involves complying with health and personal hygiene standards while performing a variety of tasks assigned by the Head Cook to support the smooth operation of the kitchen.

Responsibilities

Assist with meal preparation for home-delivered, bulk Congregate, and frozen meals, ensuring compliance with sanitation, health, and hygiene standards, while following food production procedures and nutritional guidelines.
Clean and maintain food storage and preparation areas.
Assist with receiving goods and inventory control, including picking up miscellaneous grocery items as needed.
Wash dishes in accordance with sanitation procedures.
Substitute for the Head Cook or other Senior Nutrition staff as needed, including delivering home-delivered or Congregate meals.
Maintain positive communication and relationships with clients and co-workers.
Occasionally visit congregate sites as needed.
Attend required training sessions.
If applicable, assist with catering projects, including delivery, serving, and clean-up.
Perform other duties as required and assigned.
