About the Job We are currently seeking an Assistant Controller for our Finance and Accounting department. The position is a trusted partner to the Controller and Chief Financial Officer, capable of collaborating closely with leadership to improve processes, supervising the team, and supporting the organization’s growth. The successful candidate will bring solid technical accounting expertise, exercise sound judgment, and be comfortable diving into the details while also contributing to higher-level initiatives. With a proactive, improvement-focused mindset, this professional balances operational execution with the ability to lead, influence, and help scale the finance function. This position may offer in-office, remote, or hybrid opportunities based on the candidate’s location and the needs of the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting and/or industry)
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning systems and advanced Excel skills
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
  • Supervisory experience

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the monthly and annual close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
  • Supporting the preparation of internal management reporting, variance analysis, and financial schedules
  • Assisting with maintaining and improving internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
  • Coordinating with external auditors during annual audits and other reviews
  • Supporting compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant regulatory requirements
  • Partnering with the Controller and operational teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and special projects
  • Supervising, mentoring, and developing accounting staff
  • Supporting the Controller with due diligence and integration of acquisitions
  • Identifying opportunities for process automation, system enhancements, and efficiency improvements.
