About The Position

Now, we’re entering a new phase of growth and are looking for a Assistant Contoller What You’ll Do Preparation and review of periodic financial reports in accordance with U.S. GAAP including statement of cash flows, equity and footnotes. Lead and continuously improve the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, with a focus on speed, accuracy, and scalability Partner with the VP of Finance / Controller to elevate the company’s internal control environment, including formalizing processes, documentation, and ongoing monitoring Oversee general ledger activities, account reconciliations, and detailed variance analysis. Be the reviewer and approver for majority of account reconciliations/journal entries prepared by staff and senior accountants. Preparer for more complex accounting areas including stock-based compensation expense, warrants, derivatives, lease accounting, acquisitions, etc. Own the revenue recognition accounting with multiple performance obligations in accordance with ASC 606 Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Legal, and external auditors to ensure alignment on technical accounting and reporting matters Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies aligned with a more complex operating environment Play a key role in audit readiness, including preparation of supporting schedules and coordination with external auditors Drive automation and system enhancements to support a more robust and scalable finance function Support special projects related to organizational readiness, process standardization, and financial infrastructure buildout

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred)
  • 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting (Big4 or national firm preferred), late stage VC-backed or Public Company experience.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience operating in complex reporting environments
  • Demonstrated experience improving close timelines and building scalable accounting processes
  • Experience supporting organizations through periods of rapid growth, increased scrutiny, or enhanced reporting requirements
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and financial reporting tools
  • Experience working with government entities as customers preferred
