We’re seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to help lead the financial operations of our manufacturing facility. In this role, you’ll be responsible for accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and effective cost management—playing a key role in driving the profitability of our audio panel production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA or CMA required
  • 8+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • At least 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience
  • Experience in a public company and/or public accounting environment

Nice To Haves

  • Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory control, and GAAP
  • Experience preparing financial statements and required disclosures
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (IFS, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
  • Advanced Excel skills; proficiency with Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to partner effectively with operations and senior leadership

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Responsible for calculating and posting all financial statement estimates and reserves that are applicable (for example, warranty and inventory reserves).
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and corporate policies.
  • Assist with audits and regulatory filings.
  • Lead and manage the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Provide external auditors with all necessary documents and information.
  • Responsible for reviewing month-to-date and year-to-date flux explanations.
  • Maintain and analyze standard costs for audio panel production.
  • Monitor variances between actual and standard costs; recommend corrective actions.
  • Oversee inventory valuation and reconciliation processes.
  • Provide guidance and oversee the annual physical inventory observation.
  • Assist in developing annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
  • Perform analytical review of actual monthly revenues and expenses as compared to budgeted figures.
  • Explain material differences between budgeted and actual figures.
  • Provide variance analysis and performance metrics to management.
  • Partner with production and engineering teams to understand cost drivers.
  • Support initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Communicate with other departments regarding any issue that affects accounting.
  • Lead implementation of ERP systems and optimize financial workflows.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process enhancements.
  • Perform review of current accounting processes to find inefficiencies that can be corrected.
  • Ensure proper recording of Corporate Credit Card transactions into the ERP system (IFS).
  • Supervise and manage a department accounting and finance team members, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Responsible for writing performance evaluations for direct reports.
  • Provide coaching to direct reports.
  • Responsible for approving write-offs, bank account reconciliations, credits issued, cash entries, wires initiated, customer payment terms granted, and all manual journal entries.
  • Approve rebate and commission expenses calculated by the Sales department.
