About The Position

The Assistant Controller is responsible for performing many of the day-to-day activities of the Accounting Department. This includes but is not limited to the following: Directing month-end closing activities; Preparing and reviewing month-end account reconciliation's; Responsible for audits of the accounting department; Performing special projects as directed by the CFO, VP of Finance and Controller. The Assistant Controller must also support the facility's Standards of Performance and ICARE values.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required
  • 2-4 years of accounting experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in a senior level accounting position preferred.
  • Must be knowledgeable in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and the use of personal computers.

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Medicare and third-party payer knowledge helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations, projects and audits of the accounting department.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the facility financial statements both monetary and statistics.
  • Direct the month-end close process.
  • Provide input for annual job evaluations for staff.
  • Provides on-going training for staff.
  • Promote teamwork within the department.
  • Answer questions from other departments, corporate, vendors and anyone else they may come in contact within the course of their duties.
  • Support the facility's Standards of Performance and ICARE values.
