About The Position

As an Assistant Controller/Senior Accountant, you will serve as the right hand to the US Country Finance Manager and take full ownership of the month‑end close process. You will ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial data, lead financial reporting activities, and support government compliance requirements. This role requires a strong technical accounting foundation, the ability to operate independently with minimal direction, and the confidence to challenge existing processes and propose improvements. You’ll play a key role in audits, contribute to planning and forecasting, and help shape a more efficient and scalable finance function.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in general accounting and corporate finance.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS 15 and 16.
  • Proven experience with full-cycle accounting: operational planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Skilled in month-end close processes across multiple subsidiaries.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (advanced level).
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical mindset, and organizational skills.
  • Capable of handling multiple priorities independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong communicator with a calm, methodical, and solutions-oriented approach.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Experience using business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar) to create financial dashboards, reports, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Familiarity with ADP Payroll systems.
  • CPA certification or progress toward one.
  • Background in government contracting or aerospace/defense environments.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and record financial transactions related to assets, liabilities, revenue, and expenses.
  • Reconcile accounts, maintain general ledgers, generate trial balances and workpapers.
  • Support projects related to systems optimization, reporting enhancements, and operational finance.
  • Drive process improvements, identify inefficiencies, and implement stronger workflows.
  • Challenge existing practices and propose well‑reasoned accounting and process solutions.
  • Create financial statements and support external audits with timely and accurate documentation.
  • Manage incurred cost proposals and oversee compliance with government reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with SSC Delegation of Authorities and legal standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold internal control policies.
