Requirements

  • University degree or College Diploma in specialized occupational field (i.e. Business, Accounting).
  • Professional accounting designation (CMA, CGA or CA).
  • A minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in industrial accounting in the manufacturing sector.
  • Experience in auto parts manufacturing is an asset.
  • Practical experience with computers and Microsoft Office.
  • Good math skills and the ability to analyze data.
  • Strong listening and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well in a fast paced environment and with a variable workload (flexible hours).
  • Ability to understand, anticipate and follow direction while exercising maturity of judgement.
  • Must be able to interact effectively with other team members.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, and use discretion and tact.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in auto parts manufacturing is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain on-going evaluation of financial systems and procedures in compliance with generally accepted standards for financial control and corporate policies.
  • Complete, accurate and consistent accounting records.
  • Complete, accurate, timely, consistent and relevant management information.
  • Strong, cooperative relationship with Magna Seating Systems and Magna Finance functions.
  • Favorable audit reports.
  • Continuous improvement in financial management strength within the Finance Function and among Operations Managers.
  • Efficient and effective financial planning processes.
  • Effective management of funds flow including; cash, accounts receivable and collections, and accounts payable and disbursements.
  • Development and maintenance of MSC (Magna Seating Columbus) Business planning process.
  • Ensures complete, accurate, timely, and consistent recording and summarization of financial control and corporate policies.
  • Develop and ensure the proper maintenance of control systems to safeguard assets and to effectively monitor operations.
  • Participate, adhere to and develop operating procedures as part of the company’s ongoing implementation of ISO 14001/IATF 16949 activities.
  • Abide by all AODA and C-TPAT procedures that apply to their position
  • Ensures all administrative duties are completed as required and that work is completed on time as scheduled, and is thorough, accurate and complete.
  • Conducts & completes performance reviews informally or formally as required
