About the Opportunity A nationally recognized manufacturing leader is seeking a strategic and hands-on Assistant Controller to support financial operations and help drive accounting excellence across a multi-entity organization. This role partners closely with executive leadership and operational teams to strengthen financial reporting, improve internal controls, and support long-term organizational growth. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys balancing high-level financial strategy with day-to-day accounting leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Experience with cost accounting and inventory management strongly preferred
  • Proven leadership experience managing or mentoring accounting teams
  • Advanced ERP system experience and strong Excel skills
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CPA-eligible strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support the Controller in overseeing daily accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting.
  • Assist with preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Manage and improve internal controls, policies, and accounting procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Oversee and mentor accounting staff, supporting professional development and performance management.
  • Partner with operations, supply chain, and leadership teams to provide financial insights and cost analysis.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support business decision-making.
  • Coordinate external audits and support regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Monitor fixed assets, inventory accounting, and cost accounting processes.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives and support system implementations or enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.
