About The Position

The Assistant Controller is responsible for overseeing the accounting and finance functions of the company. This role ensures the integrity of financial records, implements strong internal controls, and supports the company’s financial strategy through accurate accounting, reporting, budgeting, and compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 8-10 years related experience preferred
  • 5 years of experience leading a team of financial professionals
  • Demonstrated expertise in MS Excel, Ability to prepare and analyze monthly financial results, identify trends, and provide meaningful conclusions
  • Strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting and ability to take a stance
  • Excellent communication, time management, leadership, problem-solving and organizational skills
  • A proactive, results-driven approach with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Must be able to show evidence of authorization to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA preferred
  • Big Four experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage Finance & Accounting Operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, general ledger, and payroll
  • Establish & maintain accounting policies and procedures including: Process documentation, assessment, improvement and efficiency
  • Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls
  • Compliance with applicable accounting standards
  • Month-end close: Ensure journal entries are properly recorded
  • Ensure reconciliations are prepared and reviewed for all balance sheet accounts and key P&L accounts
  • Review staff accountant reconciliations
  • Prepare key account reconciliations
  • Variance analysis
  • Key metrics
  • Support the audit process
  • Support the budgeting & forecasting processes
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the finance and accounting team
  • Delegate responsibilities and set performance goals
  • Recruit and train accounting staff as needed
  • Work and collaborate with other departments to ensure company goals are achieved
