About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Assistant Controller (CPA required) to join our telecommunications construction company. As the Assistant Controller, you will be responsible for supporting the Controller by examining and analyzing the accounting records of the company.  The Assistant Controller will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timing of financial data and reporting along with compliance to established company accounting standards and procedures. This position is located 100% on-site in Boca Raton, FL (not hybrid or remote). Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • CPA required
  • Proven experience as an Assistant Controller or similar role in the construction or telecommunications industry (ideally 5 years experience at Assistant Controller level)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles, financial planning, and analysis
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting standards and regulatory compliance
  • Proficiency in accounting software, Quickbooks and MS Office Suite
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and consolidate financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements. Present financial reports to the Controller, providing insights and analysis for improving financial performance and accounting practices.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with Controller to develop, analyze and monitor budgets.
  • Internal Controls: Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. Monitor and evaluate internal control systems and suggest improvements as necessary to enhance financial processes.
  • Financial Accounting Research: Research and present accounting issues and policies when necessary in order to maintain compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Cost Analysis and Efficiency: Conduct regular cost analysis and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
  • Audit and Compliance: Assist and support the Controller with the annual financial audit and provide analytical support and reconciliations as required
  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment. Mentor and develop team members, providing ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
