The Job: As a Assistant Controller, you’ll be part of our Industrial Finance Controllership team working as an on-site employee. You’ll get to: key member of both the finance and plant leadership teams, acting as a strategic partner to drive business results across our Brea, California manufacturing facility. Collaborate closely with site leadership to influence operational decisions, drive continuous improvement, and ensure the financial health of multiple P&Ls within a dynamic environment featuring fully internalized engineering, testing, and production. Reporting to the CAM Fasteners Controller, you will lead site cost accounting activities and provide the analytical insights and business partnership needed to achieve plant objectives. Catalyst for operational excellence, working alongside plant leadership to identify opportunities, solve problems, and deliver results. This role is designed for a collaborative leader who excels at translating financial data into action, supporting the CAM Fasteners Controller and leadership team in achieving both operational and financial goals. Strategic Business Partnership Operational Collaboration: Serve as a proactive member of the plant leadership team, providing financial insights and business counsel to support daily operations and long-term initiatives. Decision Support: Partner with site leaders to analyze business cases, model scenarios, and evaluate investments, ensuring data-driven decisions that enhance plant performance. Performance Visibility: Develop and deliver clear, actionable reporting that empowers the leadership team to understand key drivers, track progress, and achieve plant targets. Continuous Improvement: Champion process excellence by standardizing and improving business processes, eliminating waste, and boosting data reliability across functions. Cost Accounting & Financial Leadership Cost Development & Maintenance: Lead all standard costing activities, including annual cost roll, labor/overhead rates, and BOM/routing audits, in partnership with operations and engineering. Variance Analysis: Own daily/weekly variance tracking, delivering insights on PPV, labor efficiency, and volume variances to inform operational decisions. New Product Costing: Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to provide pro-forma cost estimates and margin analysis for new projects and bids. Financial Governance & Risk Management Controllership Partnership: Support accurate financial statements for multiple P&Ls, ensuring compliance and alignment with business objectives. Support the controller in all planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities as needed Reporting & Compliance: Lead month-end/quarterly closing, support SOX compliance, and continuously improve internal controls. Risk Mitigation: Work with the Controller and plant leadership to identify and address potential risks, supporting a strong control environment. Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience: 7-10 years in a manufacturing environment, with proven experience as a business partner to operations and leadership teams.
  • Technical Skills: ERP (JD Edwards, HFM), advanced Excel, BI tools (Power BI), P&L ownership.
  • Leadership: Collaborative, influential partner able to align finance and operations, drive cross-functional initiatives, and deliver results.
  • Attributes: High integrity, continuous improvement mindset, service-oriented approach, and strong communication skills.
