About The Position

IQ Fiber is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to support the Controller in overseeing all accounting operations. This role will lead key aspects of the monthly close, audit, and reporting processes while managing a team. This is a high-visibility role with significant growth opportunity, designed for a candidate who can develop into the Controller position in the future as the company continues to scale.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA required).
  • 6–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, telecommunication industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Strong technical accounting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite or similar ERP system is required.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines independently.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Supervise and develop members of the Accounting team, providing guidance, training, and performance management
  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
  • Support Finance and the Controller in delivering timely and accurate internal and external financial reporting
  • Lead key aspects of the annual audit process, including coordination with external auditors and preparation of audit schedules
  • Implement and ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures, and support ongoing process improvements
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses
  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance and operational teams to support budgeting, reforecasting, and business initiatives
  • Assist in the optimization of accounting systems and processes as the company scales
  • Stay current on accounting standards and regulatory requirements, particularly as they relate to the telecommunications industry
  • Assist with the integration and accounting treatment of potential future M&A
  • Assist with other ad hoc projects as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
