About The Position

The Assistant Controller will play a crucial role in shaping the finance organization and our processes as we scale! Reporting to the Controller, this is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced accounting professional with a desire to apply past learnings to an early-stage company on a massive growth trajectory.

Requirements

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years of work experience (CPA a plus!)
  • You have experience with financial systems and implementing workflows. NetSuite, ADP, and Bill.com experience is a plus!
  • You have knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
  • You are highly analytical and solve problems with spreadsheets
  • You have a fanatical attention to detail and enjoy staying organized
  • You are highly proactive and always follow up. You’re solving today’s problem with tomorrow’s problem in mind.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with all aspects of financial reporting and the monthly close process to ensure the integrity of underlying financial transaction data
  • Responsible for various accounting functions, including: Accounts Payable management: manage vendors and vendor bills, process weekly check runs
  • Payroll processing: run payroll according to the payroll schedule
  • Sales tax filings: file sales tax for multiple entities, in various states
  • Bank statements and credit card statements reconciliations. NetSuite banks reconciliations.
  • Month-end close: maintenance and entry of amortization schedules, accrual schedules, adjusting journal entries, and intercompany transactions
  • Month-end close: balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Familiarity with lease and revenue accounting, basic understanding of ASC 842 and 606.
  • Cash flow management
  • Assist with the year-end audit and tax filings
  • Assist with developing policies, procedures, workflows, and systems to facilitate the company's scaling quickly, while implementing controls
  • Support the financial budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Monitor and analyze operating results against budget and provide insights for potential improvements
  • Provide ad-hoc analyses as needed to support new business growth opportunities and cost improvement strategies
