Job Title Assistant Controller (Corporate) About This Role: Workplace Arrangements This role will follow a fully remote schedule. Applicants for this role can expect to work from home 5 days a week and can work from our Ottawa Home Office if they prefer.

Requirements

• University degree in Accounting/Business
• CPA designation
• 5+ years of accounting department experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong computer skills including advanced Excel skills
• Ability to work independently and part of a team
• Experience developing relationships with departments outside Finance

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak/read/write French is an asset
• Retail experience
• Experience working in a large organization with many legal entities
• Excellent time management skills

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the GTSL (Corporate) Controller in managing and overseeing the financial operations of the organization
• Prepare Corporate entities Financial Statements
• Prepare monthly journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Conduct the month end close process for Marketing, Fixed Assets, and Executive cost centers
• Review Store entities Financial Statements
• Assist in the preparation of Corporate budgets and forecasts
• Prepare and produce financial information for the year end audit
• Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis for management
