About The Position

Power your future with Qualus in our Project Management Organization as an Assistant Construction Project Manager. Under general direction from the Project Manager, assists in managing electric utility projects across all phases of a project to assure satisfactory completion within scope, schedule, and budget targets. Works closely with engineering, permitting, procurement, construction, safety, quality, and commissioning personnel to help coordinate successful delivery of projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction Management (preferred), or related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience in engineering, construction, or project management
  • Experience with design and construction of electric transmission, distribution and/or substations preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree in construction management, engineering, or related degree, or equivalent experience in a construction-related position.
  • Experience working with a team to complete contract requirements, while ensuring safety, quality, cost, and schedule goals are achieved.
  • Experience with construction plans and specifications.
  • Experience or a desire to learn about project financial tracking, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Commitment to safety.
  • Excellent verbal slash written communication, problem solving, conflict resolution, and decision making skills.
  • Ability to liaise between designers, owners, contractors, and end-users.
  • Certifications preferred (PE, EIT, CCM, etc.)
  • Effective written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing project plans, schedules, and budgets. Collaborate with the project manager, engineering team, and subcontractors to ensure all project phases are executed efficiently.
  • Act as a point of contact between subcontractors, vendors, and clients
  • Track project progress and performance, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets. Support the preparation of project status reports and update project documentation, as necessary.
  • Track procurement of materials and equipment, facilitating timely delivery and compliance with project specifications.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and support compliance with all safety requirements. Be proactive in hazard identification and correction.
  • Facilitate efficient processing of various project documents, including RFIs, submittals, and daily reports. Interface with Procore or other construction management software to maintain accurate project records meeting client and company requirements. Maintain organized project files and documentation on company systems.
  • Assist in managing project financials, including budget forecasting, cost tracking, and financial reporting.
  • Participate in quality assurance and quality control processes, confirming work meets the required standards and specifications. Assist in conducting final inspections and project closeout activities.
  • Perform project-related field tasks, attend key meetings, coordinate and manage subcontractors, and performing a variety of technical activities from project start to completion.
  • Perform periodic site visits to confirm progress conforms to project's requirements.
