About The Position

This Assistant Complex Coordinator (ACC) position is for Creekside Hall, an all-male residence hall within University Housing and Dining (UHD). The ACC assists Complex Coordinators with the administration and student development functions of a residence hall. This role also involves providing emergency response and participating in an on-call system for the residence halls. The position requires the incumbent to live in a one-bedroom apartment in the residence halls and reports directly to a Complex Coordinator.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Admitted to the University of Texas at Austin’s graduate program.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate students enrolled for master's and/or Doctoral degree in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy.
  • Graduate students with experience or background in housing and residence life.

Responsibilities

  • Adjudicate and conduct judicial conferences related to violations of university or housing policies, mediate conflicts and assist students to resolve issues in a developmental manner and make referrals to appropriate campus resources.
  • Co/advise student groups within the residence hall.
  • Encourages creative programming for a residence hall audience.
  • Coordinate residence hall operations, including preparation of reports, check-in/check-out/room changes, budgeting, program assessment and tracking activities, assist and promote marketing programs, helps with scheduling desk and on calls for student staff, and other student development and administrative functions utilizing effective planning and communication skills.
  • May directly co/supervise and evaluate Resident Assistants, and assist in the recruitment, selection and training of the Resident Assistants.
  • Provide emergency response and rotating on-call duty functions.
  • Drive UT vehicle as needed.
  • Provide staff development through planning workshops and presenting developmental programs to staff.
  • Presenting training sessions during RA training periods.
  • Serve on departmental and interdepartmental committees/initiatives.
