About The Position

Student and Campus Life (SCL) at Cornell University inspires transformation in all students. The Assistant Coach for Men’s & Women’s Squash will assist with team and player development and training, practice and match planning, athlete performance evaluation, and provide recommendations to the head coach regarding competition participation. This role also involves ongoing recruitment of prospective athletes, including on- and off-campus responsibilities. Coaches are expected to support student-athletes academically and integrate them with university and department services. The Assistant Coach will participate in scheduling, planning, and travel arrangements, potentially including transportation to away competitions. Additional duties may include researching and recommending equipment purchases, communicating with alumni and program friends, and assisting with fundraising. This is a 10-month per year, 1-year fixed-term position, with extension dependent on continued funding, business needs, and performance. The 10-month salary is $54,540. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with up to 2 years squash experience or equivalent combination
  • Prior coaching or competitive collegiate playing experience
  • Credentials should reflect proven success and potential in coaching, recruiting and developing student-athletes
  • Must be highly motivated with an outstanding work ethic and a relentless recruiter
  • Knowledgeable of NCAA rules
  • An understanding of the unique non-athletic scholarship environment of the Ivy League and how to identify and recruit these prospective student-athletes and families
  • The ability to actively assist current student-athletes manage the rigor, time management, and academic course load at Cornell University
  • Experience modeling values that support inclusion, belonging, and wellbeing
  • Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members
