About The Position

The Assistant Coach supports the Head Coach in directing the men’s soccer program. This role involves assisting with training methods, player development, recruitment, academic monitoring, and team logistics. The Assistant Coach may assume the Head Coach’s responsibilities when necessary and contribute to division-wide tasks within Student Life and Athletics. Commitment to University, Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), and NCAA rules and regulations is required.

Requirements

  • Thorough understanding of the game and technical aspects of men’s soccer.
  • Ability to effectively teach skills connected with player development.
  • Four-year college education.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Coach with developing effective practice plans, coaching and skill development, recruiting qualified student-athletes, monitoring academic success, and coordinating team travel plans.
  • Assume the Head Coach role during their absence or inability to coach.
  • Assist the Division of Student Life and Athletics with division-wide tasks as needed.
  • Maintain commitment to University, GLVC, and NCAA rules and regulations.
