About The Position

Nevada Football is recruiting for an Assistant Coach. Assistant Coaches assist the Head Football Coach in assigned aspects of the Division I program, complying with university, conference and NCAA rules and regulations. They are responsible for practice and game coaching, the recruitment and retention of student-athletes, scheduling, team travel, mentorship of student athletes, and academic integrity. Assistant coaches may supervise specific areas of the day to day operations of the athletic team (quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers, offensive lineman, defensive lineman, linebackers, etc.) and coordinates game day preparation and on-field activities as directed by the Head Football Coach. In addition to the above duties, the higher level Assistant Coach, may supervise other football coaches.

Requirements

  • Comp Grade B – Assistant Coach, Football Bachelor’s Degree and two years of related work experience and/or playing experience Master’s Degree and one year of related work experience and/or playing experience Related Experience: team coaching experience and/or playing experience (note: Coaching or playing experience considered must be at the high school, Junior College, NAIA, NCAA I, II, III, or higher level)
  • Comp Grade C – Assistant Coach, Football Bachelor’s Degree and four years of related professional work experience and/or a combination of college-level or higher playing experience Master’s Degree and two years of related professional work experience and/or a combination of college-level or higher playing experience Related Experience: team coaching experience and/or playing experience (note: Coaching or playing experience considered must be at the high school, Junior College, NAIA, NCAA I, II, III, or higher level)
  • Comp Grade D – Assistant Coach, Football Bachelor’s Degree and five years of related professional experience Master’s Degree and three years of related professional experience Doctoral Degree and one year of related professional experience Related Experience: team coaching experience (note: Coaching experience considered must be at the high school, Junior College, NAIA, NCAA I, II, III, or higher level)
