Assistant City Attorneys provide legal counsel to the City Council, City departments, and boards and commissions. They may represent the city before administrative agencies, in municipal or water court, trial and appellate courts, at board and commission meetings, in real property transactions, or numerous other specialty areas. An Assistant City Attorney III handles a more significant workload than an Assistant City Attorney II and works with a greater level of autonomy. Additionally, the Assistant City Attorney III will work directly with department heads with little supervision. The hiring range for these positions are commensurate with experience: Assistant City Attorney II - $101,171.20 - $150,280.00 Assistant City Attorney III - $122,428.80 - $183,643.20
