Assistant Chemist
About The Position
The Assistant Chemist uses analytical skills in performing specialized lab tests at our factory. Principle accountabilities include but are not limited to: In the absence of the other lab personnel, including the Factory Chemist, this position ensures required lab tests are performed and results recorded. May perform tests and record results. Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the lab and maintain all laboratory records. Prepares and standardizes solutions. Responsibility for sugar and by-product analysis. Performs routine lab maintenance, including troubleshooting and basic repair and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED certificate is required.
- 4 Year College Degree in Chemistry, Biology or related science, to include two years of chemistry.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Must be able to reference, read and understand how to use MSDS information.
- Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively to direct and supervise lab personnel.
