About The Position

At The Learning Experience, we create joyful early learning environments where children build confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning. Our leadership team supports teachers, partners with families, and ensures classrooms consistently deliver a high-quality educational experience through the L.E.A.P. curriculum. The Learning Experience – Byron Center is seeking an experienced Assistant Center Director to support daily operations, mentor teachers, and strengthen family engagement. At The Learning Experience, we make early education joyful, engaging and fun so children are happy to learn, play and grow. Our curriculum focuses on the six ages and stages of early childhood development and engages children in hands-on learning activities that encourage them to explore and solve problems at their own rate of development. This forms a foundation for kids to Learn, Play and Grow under the care of our nurturing teachers and staff. At TLE®, we’ve created a full cast of characters that become our little learners’ educators, partners and friends through their preschool education journey. Each character has a unique personality and area of interest and brings learning to life by allowing children to explore the world through fun and imagination.

Requirements

  • Experience in childcare leadership or preschool administration preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of licensing standards and staffing practices
  • Ability to support both operational and classroom needs

Responsibilities

  • Support daily center operations and classroom quality
  • Ensure compliance with Michigan licensing and safety standards
  • Recruit, coach, and support teaching staff
  • Assist with staffing, scheduling, and reporting
  • Conduct tours and support enrollment growth
  • Partner with the Center Director on retention and family satisfaction
  • Step into classrooms as needed to maintain ratios and program consistency
