About The Position

Sweetwater, the nation's #1 online retailer of music instruments and pro audio gear, is looking to add a driven, talented, and motivated Assistant Category Manager to our Merchandising team. The Assistant Category Manager will focus on our Guitar category and be responsible for answering product availability questions, gathering information from vendors, pre-sales questions from our Sales Engineers, updating price lists, and performing other duties as requested from the Category Manager. This role is ultimately being a servant leader to our front-line internal customer, the Sales Engineers.

Requirements

• Ability to effectively provide support to Sales
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2-3+ years of experience in merchandising, preferably in a retail environment.
• Must have knowledge of guitars and music gear
• Knowledge of Buying Trends and Programs
• Ability to communicate clearly and positively
• Desire to pay close attention to detail, high level of organization, and the responsibility to promptly complete assigned tasks
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Email
• Exceptional Customer Service experience
• We function best as a unified team, so relocation to our state-of-the-art campus in Fort Wayne, IN is required.

Nice To Haves

• Degree or Certificate in Music or similar preferred
• Knowledge of current Guitar Brands and Manufacturers

Responsibilities

• Deliver service and support to Sales Engineers via P&A Module, Ticketing system, phone, & email.
• Working with our numerous vendors to resolve a variety of expedited issues for Sales Engineers including ETA changes, product running changes, and discontinued item replacement
• Creating and maintaining records in 4D
• Staying current with system information, changes, and updates.
• Daily execution of Domo exception reporting
• Working with Product Information Team on SKU imports and inventory record maintenance
