About The Position

The Assistant Cash Manager supports daily cash operations during cruise ship port days, ensuring accurate cash handling, reconciliation, and reporting across retail and food & beverage outlets. This role provides critical support to the Cash Auditor in maintaining cash security, distributing working banks, and resolving discrepancies in a fast-paced seasonal tourism environment.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years cash handling, cashier, or accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong mathematical and counting skills with high accuracy.
  • Experience with POS systems and cash reconciliation preferred.
  • Basic computer skills including Excel for reconciliation worksheets.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and integrity.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy port days.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct all activities and decisions according to Icy Strait Point’s guiding principles: BAP: Best, Authentic, Profitable.
  • Prepare and distribute working banks to retail and F&B locations.
  • Provide change and cash support to operational departments.
  • Maintain accurate cash inventory and secure cash handling procedures.
  • Count and verify cash receipts from multiple outlets at end of day.
  • Assist with completing cash reconciliation to POS report worksheets.
  • Identify and document overs and shorts for each location.
  • Research and investigate cash discrepancies and variances.
  • Communicate overs/shorts to appropriate department directors.
  • Document cash handling issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of all cash operations.
  • Follow established cash handling policies and procedures.
  • Support the Cash Auditor with special projects and audits as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
