Candidates who are successfully employed as Case Aide for four (4) years will be eligible to apply for a promotional opportunity to a DCS Specialist Trainee Position. A DCS Assistant Case Manager (Case Aide) works in the field, in collaboration with the case management team, and provides a variety of services to families and children in various social service programs. A day in the life of a DCS Assistant Case Manager (Case Aide) can look like: Alternative work hours may be required, including overtime, weekends and holidays.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Arizona driver's license.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Selected candidates must be able to pass a background investigation and DCS Central Registry check.
  • Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12).
  • This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business, and the following requirements apply: Driver's License Requirements.
  • All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).

Nice To Haves

  • The ideal candidate will have college experience with credit hours in child development, rehabilitation, counseling, psychology, social services, sociology or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting clients as outlined by the assigned case manager
  • Providing services to individuals and families in various social service programs within the Department of Child Safety (DCS)
  • Transporting clients as needed including handling and installing child safety seating
  • Arranging client appointments
  • Supervising visits between parents and children
  • Referring clients to appropriate community resources.
  • Participating in Foster Care Review Board meetings, court hearings and other meetings as required
  • Documenting observations and interactions with clients in DCS case management system.
  • Provides case management assistance and provides clerical support as needed.
