About The Position

The Buyer is responsible for supporting the Buying Team in maintaining store inventories, analyzing market trends, and contributing to the procurement process. This role ensures products align with market demand, client expectations, and profitability goals while collaborating across departments to maintain a seamless operational workflow.

Requirements

  • Detail Orientation: Exceptional attention to detail in inventory management and reporting.

  • Proficient in POS systems.
  • Proficient in MAC Operating Systems, iOS devices, Microsoft Office, and Google Applications.
  • 2-3 years of buying experience in luxury retail.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to lift and mobilize small to medium items, up to 50 pounds while utilizing appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
  • Ability to maneuver effectively around the sales floor, stock room, and cash wrap.
  • The position entails prolonged standing and sitting.

Responsibilities

  • Support the sales floor with client interactions and assist the sales team with Lightspeed, inventory, and product inquiries.
  • Manage inventory counts, reporting, and discrepancy resolution to ensure accurate stock levels.
  • Create and update product listings in Lightspeed, ensuring accurate photos, costs, and pricing.
  • Archive outdated products to maintain a current inventory database.
  • Own the damage claims process to address product issues efficiently.
  • Assist in placing orders based on sales performance and budgetary guidelines.
  • Partner with buyers to discover new brands and products.
  • Collaborate on creating purchase orders and tracking them through Lightspeed, PO Master Spreadsheet, and Shared Buyer Website Spreadsheet.
  • Order and monitor shipments, including special orders and drop-ships, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and industry partners.
  • Act as a liaison between Accounting, Web, and Communications teams to ensure accurate invoicing and inventory updates.
  • Assist with trunk shows, special events, and market scheduling as needed.
  • Make recommendations to drive sales and gross margin performance, enhancing overall profitability.
  • Act as a liaison between teams to ensure accurate inventory updates.
  • Collaborate with the Web and Communications teams to upload product details to the website, including: High-quality product images and descriptions. Accurate SKU, pricing, and inventory data. Categorization and tagging to optimize search functionality and user experience. Consistent updates for promotions, seasonal collections, and new arrivals.
