As an Assistant Buyer Intern you will contribute to Wenger Corporation’s strategy to provide exceptional customer experience by supporting the Purchasing team with day-to-day buying activities, supplier coordination, and data management. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in procurement, vendor relations, and supply chain operations, offering exposure to the full purchasing cycle in a fast-paced business environment.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Demonstrated interest in supply chain, procurement, or merchandising.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting Buyers with placing purchase orders and following up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery including expedites.
  • Conducting market and vendor research to identify cost, quality, and availability trends.
  • Maintaining accurate purchasing records, including order tracking, pricing updates, and delivery schedules.
  • Helping monitor inventory levels and provide reporting to ensure stock availability.
  • Reviewing product samples, specifications, and vendor proposals for alignment with business needs.
  • Partnering with internal departments (e.g., Operations, Finance, and Inventory Control) to resolve order discrepancies.
  • Supporting the team with preparing reports, presentations, and analyses related to supplier performance and spend.
  • Participating in vendor meetings and negotiations as appropriate.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the Purchasing department.
  • You will be required to complete a ‘report out’ presentation at Wenger Corporation’s celebration / ‘graduation ceremony’ prior the conclusion of the internship.
