THE ROLE The Assistant Buyer is responsible for the development, sourcing, procurement, and maintenance of merchandise and/or corporate fulfillment products by performing the following duties.

Requirements

  • To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) or equivalent from four-year College / Three-Four years within Legends Global Merchandise.
  • This position requires that the person be highly organized, self-motivated individual who can work independently.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.
  • Strong computer skills are a must.
  • Use of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and comfortable use of Internet is necessary.
  • Must have excellent data entry skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to understand and follow work processes.
  • Ability to handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.
  • The ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze sales and make chase marketing buying decisions based on projections while considering budget, team’s record, fixture fill and product placement.
  • Plan future year’s assortment plans during current year and possible playoff runs using sales history, future projections and considering opportunities to expand the business.
  • Works with vendors to get the best deal to increase the bottom line
  • Work with Web Coordinator to make sure all new items are online
  • Set templates for all products in appropriate locations (Training Camp, mall stores, stadium pro shop, stadium kiosks, etc.) as well as setting internet holds.
  • Adjust templates for all products as necessary from summer-to-fall-to-winter-to-spring along with any emerging trends or special games.
  • Travel to team stadiums for setup of stadium kiosks for at least one week in July/August
  • Work at least 10 game days over the course of the season
  • Assist in new team takeover with not only buying but warehouse setup, store setup and other physical requirements.
  • Manage Program Coordinator; assigning daily tasks, yearly goals and handling employee time card/benefits.
