We are currently seeking an Assistant Branch Manager in Waltham, MA to support branch leadership, elevate operational performance, and drive exceptional customer and vendor relationships. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced industrial distribution environment and enjoys working closely with inside sales, warehouse staff, outside sales teams, and corporate departments. The Assistant Branch Manager will work closely with the Branch/Office Manager to ensure the success and smooth operations of our Waltham Office. Salary Range $77,000 - $82,000 +Company Car + Lucrative Commission / Bonus Structure.

Requirements

  • Solid work history.
  • 3+ year experience in industrial automation / distribution, supply chain, or similar environment.
  • Prior proven leadership experience.
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to access and accurately input and manipulate information using a variety of software.
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a hectic environment.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver 25 – 50 pounds.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

  • Knowledge of Mechanical, Automation, Pneumatic, Hydraulic products is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Support oversight of inside sales and warehouse personnel—helping coach, train, and develop high-performing staff.
  • Maintain a professional, efficient, and customer-focused branch environment.
  • Assist in scheduling, prioritizing workload, and maintaining accountability across the team.
  • Build strong relationships with local customers, ensuring prompt responses and high-quality service.
  • Support coordination with key suppliers and vendor partners to maximize joint opportunities and service levels.
  • Assist with sales forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning initiatives.
  • Help maintain records, reporting, documentation, and compliance with Office Management standards.
  • Partner with Operations, Purchasing, Inventory Control, and other support departments.
  • Work closely with the outside sales team to support customer needs, quoting accuracy, product sourcing, and operational follow-through.
  • Identify process improvements that increase efficiency, margin performance, and customer satisfaction.
