We are hiring for our Full-Time Assistant Behavior Intervention Specialist position at our Avenue Z IRA. Job Description The ABIS works directly with people in their home, work, and daily lives in varying capacities. An ABIS must have previously worked as a Direct Support Professional, completed all the required trainings, and demonstrated all the knowledge, skills, and accountabilities of a DSP Level three. The ABIS position blends together the DSP role and the clinical leadership role. Clinical leadership under the supervision of the BIS includes educating team members on habilitation and Behavior Support Plans, assisting with clinical assessments, ensuring data collection, and providing direct feedback and education to all team members. Program Description Avenue Z is home to 7 residents, aged 22-63, male & female. The residents at Ave Z are independent thinkers and are capable of communicating their needs & desires. The staff at Ave Z will ask what the residents want to do each day, and listen to their responses to provide in-house or community activities. Some of the people who live at Ave Z go into the community independently while others require supervision. Some receive day habilitation services during the week, while others stay home. The staff at Ave Z try to get the residents out as much as possible and always provide a high quality of life for the people we support. Strong family connections, vacations, and recreational outings are important to the people living at Ave Z.
