The Assistant Banquet Manager is an entry-level management position responsible for leading the banquet staff and executing events according to established requirements and standards. This role involves managing departmental operations, ensuring high-quality service, and supporting the development of the team to enhance customer satisfaction.

  • Assist in managing departmental inventories and assets, including par levels and maintenance of equipment.
  • Maintain attendance logs for banquet employees and enforce established sanitation levels.
  • Adhere to and reinforce all standards, policies, and procedures (SOPs, LSOPs, etc.).
  • Ensure employee awareness of the event phase portion of the Meeting Planner Survey and Guest Satisfaction Scores.
  • Order supplies for the department, including china, glass, silver, and other service equipment needs.
  • Guide the banquet beverage supervisor in controlling liquor costs and managing the banquet beverage perpetual inventory.
  • Understand the impact of banquet operations on overall event success and manage activities to maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in scheduling banquet service staff to forecast and service standards while maximizing profits.
  • Lead shifts and actively participate in the servicing of events.
  • Interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels, and respond to guest problems and complaints.
  • Support a departmental orientation program for new employees and ensure they understand expectations.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2 years of experience in event management, food and beverage, or a related professional area.
  • Knowledge of food and wine pairings and cutting-edge cuisine.
  • Experience in customer service and guest relations.
