About The Position

Assistant Band Director (Grades 6–12) Mineola ISD – Mineola, Texas Mineola ISD is seeking a dedicated, student-centered Assistant Band Director to join a proud and tradition-rich band program serving grades 6–12. Mineola High School Band is a five-time UIL 3A State Marching Champion and a two-time 3A State Honor Band with a longstanding commitment to excellence in both marching and concert performance. This position includes teaching responsibilities at the middle school and high school levels, with an emphasis on building strong fundamentals and developing student leadership throughout the program.

Requirements

• Valid Texas teaching certification (or ability to obtain)
• Strong knowledge of band pedagogy and rehearsal techniques
• Understanding of UIL standards and Texas band traditions

Nice To Haves

• High brass background preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist with all aspects of the 6–12 band program, including marching band, concert band, and UIL preparation
• Teach middle school band classes and support high school ensembles
• Assist with marching band rehearsals, sectionals, contests, and performances
• Contribute to a positive, hard-working culture that reflects pride in our school and community
• Collaborate closely with band staff, campus administration, and supportive booster organization
