Duties 1. Reviews, implements and develops appropriate training and rehabilitation programs to minimize injury and maximize performance. 2. Provides assistance to coaches, athletes and student worker trainers, implementing individualized programs based on assessed physical requirements/limitations. 3. Assesses performance level for release. Works closely with appropriate physician to determine required training measures for maximum rehabilitation. 4. Develops sport specific warm up and cool down programs to ensure optimum preparation. 5. Maintains files and records of all participating athletes. 6. Implements prescribed rehabilitation treatment program through use of exercises and treatment modalities, e.g., heat, ice, whirlpool, and electrical stimulus to ensure optimum recovery; maintains inventory levels of appropriate medical supplies. 7. Provides a broad range of administrative and supervisory functions. Supervises assigned staff in accordance with WNMU personnel practices including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, guidance, etc. Participates in the process of ongoing personal and professional development. Maintains comprehensive communication among all contacts (internal and external). Models professional standards and ethics in accordance with WNMU philosophy. 8. Performs other duties as assigned.
