About The Position

The Assistant Athletic Director for Internal Operations serves as the operational leader for Wingate University Athletics, overseeing facilities, event execution, transportation, security operations, and internal systems that support student-athletes and coaches. This position serves as the single point of authority for athletic event security and risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily athletic operations and facilities scheduling using the University’s event management system (EMS)
  • Serve as primary game-day administrator for all non-football athletic events
  • Oversee team travel and transportation logistics
  • Direct all athletic event security planning, coordination, and execution
  • Serve as primary liaison to Campus Safety and local law enforcement agencies
  • Develop and manage event security staffing plans, credentialing, and access control
  • Lead emergency action planning and incident response for athletic events
  • Serve as liaison to Facilities, Campus Safety, and Information Technology
  • Oversee video board and Sky Coach operations
  • Serve as departmental liaison to Bon Appétit (Dining Services)
  • Act as the primary departmental contact for Hudl
  • Coordinate capital projects and athletic facility improvements
  • Lead risk management initiatives and event operations training
